Day 1 -For a stretch of about 700kms from Kampala, there lies Kidepo Valley National Park in a rugged semi arid valleys between Uganda, Sudan and Kenya. This was gazette in 1962 and hosts over 77 mammals and around 475 bird species. It’s the most isolated NP but a few who sacrifices time to go there appreciate its uniqueness and virginity in its biodiversity. We shall depart from Jinja with our Guide/driver through Kampala, heading north Bombo road, pass Karuma falls and then Gulu /Kitgum for our first overnight to break the long journey.
Day 2 -Optional We shall arise in the morning after breakfast and take a charter flight from Gulu airstrip OR Embark on our journey to Kidepo after some long hour of the drive, we shall reach Mga Moru Camp/ Apoka Lodge check in for supper and overnight.
Day 3 -Depart in the Morning for a Game drive to the hot springs and nature walk, Narus valley tour, depart in the morning with Lunch boxes to the hot springs via the palm tree lined kidepo river. Search for ostriches, leopards, cheeters, and tortoises along the way. We shall have a brief break for our lunch and then back to the jungle in search of the same to fully utilize the chance of seeing animals.
Day 4 -Cultural tour visit the Lorokul cultural group and explorer the fascinating ancient culture of the K’jongs, their way of life, herdsmen taking care of their cattle in the firlds, the way they dress, traditional homesteads and if possible sample their dishes. This will bring you a true picture of a typical African, retire supper and overnight.
Day 5 – Depart very early in the morning and embark on a marathon drive back home, with lunch en route reaching very late in the evening.
